JA-SAFE is a European Joint Action that helps turn health evidence into policy. It supports Member States in implementing EU and WHO priorities on disease prevention and health promotion. Focusing on Smoke- and Aerosol-Free Environments, tobacco reduction, and alcohol harm prevention, JA-SAFE advances Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan and the vision of a Tobacco-Free Generation.

Prof. Constantine Vardavas, MD, MPH, PhD

Prof. Vardavas is an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine at the Medical School of the University of Athens, and a Lecturer in Oral Health Policy and Epidemiology at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He is an experienced coordinator of European Commission-funded projects.
